On March 28th more than 220 children met at the
Junior Internet conference in Prague
to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Safer Internet Day…
The Safer Internet Month was opened by the
traditional Night
with H.Ch. Andersen on April 3rd. Children spent this evening in
the public library reading fairy tales, taking part in online quizzes and
communicating with other children. This event started in CzechRepublic
but it became famous and popular internationally. It was also organized the Children Friendly Europe conference where it was discussed
three key areas in the lives of children: media and children, human rights
education and child protection, positive education to train children to independent
and responsible respecting other people.
Then, on April 20th another
conference was held. Safer Internet for Children adopted the Prague Declaration which should become a very important document
which will facilitate communication between European and national
administrations and civic society.
The third event, on April 21st, was
the international workshop on children’s protection online, to provide
education in the area of internet safety and mobile networks for adults and
teachers.
