DIGITAL GAMES IN CLASSROOM TEACHING… Print _CMN_EMAIL_ALT

Are digital games being used in the classroom, in a structured and integrated way? The answer is YES…

All teachers using games, share the desire to ensure their pupils engage with their own learning processes, play an active role, and improve their academic achievement. A major component of the study is a survey of 600 teachers: two thirds of the survey respondents already use digital games in their teaching. It seems you don’t have to be young, male or an IT teacher to use games in the classroom. Interestingly, they confirm that you certainly don’t need to be a gamer to use games in your teaching. Teachers of every age, in every subject, use them: from foreign languages to literature, from maths to history and geography. They also report a very positive impact on motivation, and good results in personal, intellectual and social skills. The picture is more varied as regards the impact on critical skills and performance in specific subjects.
